When you’re embarking on your dream home, you undoubtedly hear tiny voices in your head telling you you shouldn’t do it. You can feel the tension or conflict between your conscious project goal (building your dream home) and your subconscious fears about how horrific the project might turn out.

It’s so frustrating, isn’t it?

So, why is this happening and what can you do about it?

The Power of Your Subconscious Mind

Our subconscious mind has amazing power over us. It is estimated that only 2-3% of your processing power is conscious while a whopping 98% is unconscious (like breathing, digesting, heart beating, etc). At the same time, scientists say that the power of the subconscious is a million times greater than the conscious mind.

That’s huge!

It’s not that your ego is weak, it’s actually quite powerful, but our subconscious within us is just a lot more powerful.

How We Typically Work

In normal everyday life, we often try to make things happen consciously. Through our ego, and our sweat, blood, and tears. We try harder. We fail. We learn. We work harder and faster.

How is all that going for you? It’s tough sometimes, huh?

But when what we want goes over or against something in our subconscious (that other 98% of processing power) it becomes a task of huge proportions to make come true.

Your conscious mind might be saying “I’m going to do this home building project.” But if something in the subconscious, the other 98%, thinks otherwise, “I don’t think I can do this,” or “I don’t think it’s going to work out the way I want,” then that’s what you’re going to have manifest because it’s that much more powerful.

Your Subconscious Mind Is a Like a Computer

Think of your subconscious as a computer. Your computer runs on programming. It does exactly what the program tells it to. It’s your job to make sure that your internal programming is functional, and is in alignment with your goals. And you do this by programming, re-programming, and de-bugging at regular intervals and in concert with your goals.

Get Your Subconscious Mind In Alignment With Your Project Goals

The great news is that once you get your subconscious mind onboard, that huge uphill battle becomes merely a speed bump. Much like training yourself, thinking positive, and forming habits (which eventually don’t take a lot of thought or a lot of effort), you just kinda do them.

That’s the power of your subconscious mind. Things that were once hard are now easy and you don’t think about the struggle as much because it’s not something your subconscious dwells on as much.

It’s really about getting your subconscious mind in alignment with your conscious goals.

And when it comes to your dream home project, a great way to start programming your subconscious mind into believing in your goals and getting it to help manifest your dream is to create a project vision board.

The idea behind a project vision board is that when you surround yourself with images of the project you want to achieve, who you want to become, what you want to have, and where you want to live, your life changes to match those images and those desires.

Vision boards are powerful visual motivators. And, they use the power of the mind to help you achieve your dream. So, check out our course on Creating a Project Vision Board to grab your quick guide and get started today!
